Speech Therapy in Santa Monica

Sound Bite offers in-home, in-school, and in-facility based services in Santa Monica, CA for toddlers, children, and adults in the areas of speech, language, social communication, feeding, swallowing, airway, and cognition

You may choose to seek services for your toddler if they:

  • present with fewer words, signs, sounds, and/or social behaviors than developmentally typical 

  • have been diagnosed with a developmental disorder or disability 

  • present with noticeable spoken disfluencies outside of typical age ranges

  • have a cleft lip or palate 

  • have regular difficulties at meal times with certain foods, textures, and/or routines

  • have a history of tongue tie, mouth breathing, adenoidectomy, frenectomy, ear tubes, hearing loss or impairment, and/or pre-term delivery

You may choose to seek services for your school-aged child if:

  • They have regular difficulty with executive functioning skills that can impact daily life, homework, and school performance (e.g. planning, organizing, self-monitoring, work completion, knowledge checks, time management)

  • They have regular difficulty with certain sounds, vocabulary, age appropriate play and engagement in peer relationships, self-advocacy, problem solving, and/or assignments that involve more reading, writing, speaking, and listening-based tasks

  • You are seeking support from an SLP in the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) or the IEE (Individualized Educational Evaluation) process and provider representation in related meetings

You may choose to seek services for/as an adult if you or your loved one:

  • has a history of stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurodegenerative disease, or other medical conditions that impacts language, speech production, swallowing, breathing, cognition and memory, executive functioning, interpersonal skills, fluency, and/or voice

  • has been diagnosed with a tongue thrust, forward head posture, sleep apnea (snoring), TMD (clenching, grinding, temporomandibular disorder), craniofacial dysfunction, tongue tie, deviated septum, over/underbite, or another related airway dysfunction

  • is seeking gender affirmation therapy to masculinize/feminize the qualities of the voice during or after a surgical or non-surgical change in sexual/gender presentation

  • is experiencing age-related hearing loss, communication difficulties secondary to hearing impairment, and/or difficulties managing hearing devices

You may choose to seek services for your toddler if:
